
Nigeria and hosts Morocco have advanced to the semi-finals of the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations after convincing quarter-final victories.

The Super Falcons of Nigeria cruised past Zambia with a dominant 5-0 win in Casablanca. Osinachi Ohale opened the scoring just two minutes in, heading home Esther Okoronkwo’s pinpoint free-kick.
Okoronkwo added a second goal herself after 33 minutes before Chinwendu Ihezuo made it 3-0 with a clinical finish just before half-time.
Tosin Demehin scored Nigeria’s fourth goal in the 68th minute, and substitute Folashade Ijamilusi sealed the rout with a fifth in stoppage time.
In Rabat, Morocco delighted home fans with a 3-1 victory over Mali, booking their spot in the semis for the second straight tournament.
Ibtissam Jraidi netted Morocco’s opener in the seventh minute, and later converted a penalty in the 79th to double the lead, reports Yahoo Sports.
Kenza Chapelle made it 3-0 ten minutes later before Mali’s Aissata Traoré scored a late consolation penalty.
Nigeria will now face the winner of Saturday’s match between South Africa and Senegal, while Morocco await either Algeria or Ghana in the semi-finals.
Both teams are one step closer to continental glory in this thrilling WAFCON tournament.
