Isak reportedly informed the club he wants to move on, with Liverpool preparing a British record offer for the Swedish forward.
The striker missed the squad’s trip to Singapore due to a thigh injury, which is currently being assessed by Newcastle’s medical team.
Howe emphasized that any decision about Isak’s future must prioritize the best interests of the club and its ambitions.
Ownership and the board will play a key role in deciding Isak’s future, alongside managerial input from Howe himself.
Despite the situation, Howe praised Isak’s impact on the team, describing him as popular and “magnificent” in the dressing room.
Howe admitted hoping Isak remains at Newcastle but acknowledged the football transfer market is unpredictable and anything could happen.
No contract extension talks are currently underway, with the club focusing instead on navigating the rapidly closing transfer window.
Isak’s injury was initially thought minor, but recent assessments have delayed his return to full training and match fitness, reports Daily Mail.
Ultimately, Howe stressed the club’s strong financial position and ambition to continue improving the squad for a successful season ahead.
