Arsenal are preparing to sign Viktor Gyokeres from Sporting CP, meaning Jesus will lose his starting role at the Emirates.
Due to high wages and reduced game time, Arsenal see Jesus as an expendable asset and are now open to his exit.
Brazilian outlet RTI Esporte claims Flamengo have received Jesus’ approval to begin negotiations for a loan deal until June 2026.
The agreement could include a purchase option, allowing Flamengo to sign Jesus permanently depending on his performances over two seasons.
Jesus’ representatives have informed the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF), aiming to boost his chances of making the 2026 World Cup.
Jesus hopes regular football at Flamengo across domestic and continental competitions will put him back in Carlo Ancelotti’s Brazil squad plans.
Flamengo would reportedly pay half of Jesus’ salary, with Arsenal covering the rest during the loan period, pending final agreement, reports Team Talk.
The 28-year-old is under contract at Arsenal until 2027, but may see Brazil as his best route to international redemption.
Meanwhile, Arsenal have completed the signing of Gyokeres, who joins on a long-term deal and will wear the iconic No.14 shirt.
