Barcelona have reportedly decided to part ways with Andreas Christensen, with the Danish defender excluded from the club’s plans for the 2025/26 season.

According to Mundo Deportivo, Christensen will not travel on the club’s pre-season tour of Asia, a strong signal that he’s no longer considered a part of Hansi Flick’s project.
He joins Oriol Romeu and Pau Victor on the list of players left behind.
The decision comes amid an overcrowded defensive lineup that includes Ronald Araujo, Eric Garcia, Pau Cubarsí, and Iñigo Martínez — all preferred options under the new regime.
Injuries have played a major role in Christensen’s decline in prominence.
Over the past year, his fitness issues have made regular minutes hard to come by, pushing him further down the pecking order.
Despite his proven quality, no formal offers have been received for the 29-year-old yet.
However, the club expects interest to grow as the transfer window progresses, reports Barca Universal.
For now, it’s evident that Christensen is no longer seen as part of Barcelona’s future, and a summer exit appears both likely and necessary for all parties involved.
While Christensen remains a capable and experienced defender, his time at Barcelona is clearly drawing to a close. A move elsewhere could revive his career, and for Barcelona, offloading him would help trim the squad and balance the wage bill.
