Rio Ferdinand believes Manchester United should avoid signing RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko and instead target proven Premier League talent this summer.

The 22-year-old Sesko scored 21 goals last season and has attracted interest from Arsenal and United as clubs seek attacking reinforcements.
However, Ferdinand warns that United already have too many young forwards and need a more experienced striker to lead the line.
Speaking on his YouTube channel, Ferdinand said: “Man United need experience at the top of the pitch right now.”
He referenced current options like Hojlund, Zirkzee and Chido, highlighting their inexperience and the need for a guiding presence upfront.
“They need someone players can look up to and say, ‘That’s how a number nine plays,’” Ferdinand stressed.
The former defender argued that adding another unproven striker like Sesko would be a risk the club cannot afford currently.
Instead, Ferdinand pointed toward Aston Villa’s Ollie Watkins, who has top-flight pedigree and fits United’s urgent attacking needs.
He also revealed he’d even consider bypassing a striker if United could secure Brighton midfielder Carlos Baleba instead, reports Mirror.
Baleba’s Premier League quality and midfield control, Ferdinand believes, could be transformational for Erik ten Hag’s side this season.
