The Eintracht Frankfurt forward is said to have chosen Liverpool over other suitors, with Fabrice Hawkins confirming the agreement on X.
Ekitike, 23, had also attracted interest from Manchester United, but turned them down in favour of a move to Anfield.
Liverpool’s search for a new striker intensified following a failed approach for Newcastle’s Alexander Isak, who was deemed untouchable.
Isak, rated one of the world’s top strikers, would have cost at least £150 million – a fee Liverpool refused to match.
With Darwin Nunez expected to leave after a disappointing season, Ekitike is viewed as a more affordable, high-upside attacking option, reports Four four two.
The former PSG striker has drawn comparisons to Thierry Henry and Isak for his pace, finishing, and off-the-shoulder movement.
Despite strong interest from Newcastle earlier in the window, Ekitike reportedly “only wanted Liverpool” once contact was made.
The six-year contract indicates the Reds are backing him as a long-term solution at centre-forward under new manager Arne Slot.
Liverpool fans will hope Ekitike delivers on his potential and helps lead the club in their post-Klopp era.
