Recent reports claim United have shown interest in Aston Villa’s Ollie Watkins, Chelsea’s Nicolas Jackson, and RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko.
Watkins, however, appears unlikely to move.
Aston Villa have made it clear that Watkins is not for sale, following informal contact from United.
The 29-year-old England international is reportedly valued at around £60 million.
Although United admire Watkins’ profile, Manchester Evening News suggests the club hasn’t made formal contact with Villa regarding his availability.
In a separate development, French outlet L’Équipe reports that United have entered discussions over 18-year-old Senegalese striker Idrissa Gueye.
The Metz forward joined the club from Generation Foot earlier this year but is already attracting significant interest, reports Manchester Evening.
Metz are said to be open to selling the teenager for €20 million (£17m), with Borussia Dortmund also monitoring his situation.
United have reportedly tracked Gueye’s progress for several months and may act quickly to secure a deal.
As pre-season fixtures roll on in the U.S., United are clearly building with the future in mind.
